Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at St. Rose Hospital is designed to provide care for moderately to highly acute critically ill patients needing invasive and non-invasive 24 hour-monitoring. These patients may be on life support or diagnosed with illnesses requiring complicated specialized care. Patients who are stabilized and not needing ICU care are transferred to a nursing unit or facility appropriate for their care.
The ICU is fully staffed by nursing staff who are educated, trained, and competent to care for any critically ill patients. Staff nurses work collaboratively with specialized physicians and other departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. Families are involved or are invited to participate in the patient plan of care in the ICU.
Telemetry
Patients admitted to the Telemetry Unit at St. Rose Hospital are placed under the specialized care of the nursing staff. Typically patients seen on this unit have recently experienced a health event that requires 24-hour supervision using a heart monitor.
Health conditions/problems managed on Telemetry Unit include chest pain, palpitations, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure and hypertension. Our nurses on the unit receive additional Critical Care and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training to better care for these types of conditions. The nursing staff includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse aides and other healthcare professionals.
Medical Surgical Telemetry
Patients admitted to the Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit at St. Rose Hospital are generally patients who have had surgery or have been diagnosed with acute conditions such as pneumonia, appendicitis, abdominal pain, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or any medical problem or condition.
The nursing staff includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse aides and other healthcare professionals.
