This two-hour continuing education program is designed to provide awareness to healthcare workers, of the importance to communicate clearly. In addition, each patient should be evaluated for their ability to understand written and spoken instructions.
By the end of the session the participant will be able to:
- Articulate that health literacy is a critically important problem in the quality and safety of care we deliver.
- Explain that every patient and their family should know the “Ask Me Three” technique.
- Illustrate how to effectively use “Teach-backs”.
- Must attend entire two hours to receive two-contact hours (brn#00366).

- Courses will be held in the Sherman L. Balch Pavilion Classroom.
- Location of course is subject to change, if there is a change you will be notified.
- Payment must be made at the time of registration to reserve your spot.
- Employee’s fee is refundable upon completion of the course.
- 48-hour notice of cancellation required for a refund or to reschedule.
- Non-Employee must pay course fee in the form of Cash or Money Order only.
