Program Updates

 

FACES Students Visit Genentech
A group of 30 FACES students visited Genentech biotechnology corporation to learn more about the science behind pharmaceuticals. Students listened to a lecture and took a tour of the Genentech pilot plant at the company’s South San Francisco campus.

 

 

FACES Student Volunteer at Rotary Brunch
FACES Students spent their Sunday giving back to their community at the Hayward Rotary Club’s annual fundraiser brunch. The Hayward Rotary Club has generously supported the FACES for the Future Program since its inception at St. Rose Hospital in 2007. Thank you to the Rotarians for their support, and to the FACES Students for demonstrating their leadership and commitment to the community.

 

FACES for the Future and Samuel Merritt University Partner Up!
This year, the FACES for the Future Program at St. Rose Hospital has partnered with Samuel Merritt’s University Master Physician Assistant Program to provide each senior FACES scholar with a PA student mentor. The Mentorship Kick-Off Event, held on January 24th, was a great success. Thank you SMU PA student mentors!

St. Rose Hospital Welcomes 28 New FACES Health Scholars
On Thursday, January 16th, FACES held its annual Blue Coat Ceremony and welcomes 28 new students into the internship component of the program. These students have successfully completed a semester-long FACES Boot Camp on topics like Infection Prevention, Patient Privacy, and Medical Ethics. Now, these students will begin internship rotations in 21 different sites at St. Rose Hospital and other clinical sites.
