Supervises …………………… RADIOLOGY-DIAGNOSTICS, BREAST CARE CENTER, NUCLEAR MEDICINE,          ULTRASOUND, MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING AND COMPUTER TOMOGRAPHIC SCANNING.


POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of Vice President of Business and Professional Services and Director of Diagnostic Imaging with input from the Medical Director for Radiology, directs and implements technology, quality and marketing for the department of Radiological and Diagnostic Imaging Services.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Completes technology, quality and marketing plans for cost centers and services.

Manages technology for digital imaging, computerized radiography, radiology information systems picture archiving systems, transcription and other systems.

Manages the operation of the Radiological Information System.

Works with Nursing, Business Office, Admitting, Accounting, Information Systems and all departments to implement and maintain technology and services.

Ensures Radiology Medical dictation services are efficient, cost effective and perform to established standards.

Implements improvements in revenue, new technology, marketing and quality programs.

Advises the Vice President, Director and Medical Director of developing technologies.

Coordinates the request for proposals on technology equipment acquisitions and manages implementation.

Works closely with referring physicians to assess service needs and to enhance utilization.

In responsible for department staff training related to technology, quality and marketing/customer performance standards.

Markets Outpatient Services to physicians and other healthcare providers.

Identifies and recommends process improvement and work flow re-design.

Collaborates with Chief Radiologist to meet all quality standards.

Confers with other department staff and managers regarding technical and service aspects of Diagnostic Imaging Services.

Establishes effective working relationship with management team, medical staff and hospital personnel.

Performs other job related duties as assigned by Vice President and Director. 


QUALIFICATIONS

**Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science, Public Administration Technology or Business Administration

Preferred: Masters Degree in Technology

Experience

Five years experience in Radiology/Imaging Technology

Prefer three years as PACS/RIS Administrator

Skills

Strong problem solving, communications and organization skills.

Effective project management and time management skills.
